In 2013 the Brown and the Wrights decided to open a family owned restaurant to serve breakfast and lunch to our community. They saw a need to add to the restaurants in the 19th Ward to serve the community and this is how the idea came about.
Their menu carries several dishes that are not found in Rochester, NY including Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp and Grits which brings about our slogan of Dining with a Southern Flare.

Local Review:

“Dining with a southern flair” is the motto of The Arnett Café, located on its charming namesake boulevard in Rochester’s 19th Ward. It has been serving the neighborhood and beyond with a taste of comfort and Southern hospitality since it opened in the summer of 2013.
From the warm welcome we received when we arrived to the consistent and friendly attention as we sat, it felt like a home away from home.
On the day we visited, the space was washed in natural sunlight that cascaded over the few tables and booths all filled with friends and family catching up over mugs of coffee and plates of food piping hot from the kitchen. The walls are adorned with captivating local artwork.
After taking a seat in a booth in the back half of the modest dining room, the Strawberry Lemonade ($2) was recommended to us by our gracious server. Vivid red and sweet. it was a pick-me-up that took me back to my childhood and the days of downing sugary fruit punch without a care in the world.
